ASER was constituted on March 24-th, 1998 in a meeting that nobody will ever forget. ASER is the first organisation of the students from the University of International Business Transactions. The fact that such an organisation was necessary was emphasised by the large number of the students present, who filled Aula Magna completely on this unforgettable day for ASER and by Mr. Ioan Popa, Dean of the University of international Business Transactions from Bucharest, who was invited by the students to take part to this event.![]()

MEMBERS OF ASER
ASER counts 138 founding members and over 170 members in all. All the members of ASER are students, both at the University of International Business Transactions and at other universities from the Academy of Economic studies.
Students who want to be members of ASER must address a request to the ASER Executive Council, who will approve or refuse it at the next meeting. The quality of member with all rights and obligations related to it becomes effective in the moment when the solicitor is announced and is attested by the possession of the member card.
Members of honour can be persons with special merits in university or civil activity, personalities representing an example of civil attitude, democratic spirit and professionalism through their activity, as well as ASE graduates who want to take part to the activities of the organisation.
Members of ASER have the following statutory rights:ASER members have the following statutory obligations:
- To take part to ASER activities
- To use the material equipment of ASER according to its purposes
- To elect and to be elected at any level in the structures of ASER
- To freely express their point of view concerning any problem related to ASER
- To contest the decisions of the ASER Executive Council or of the House of Representatives and to request the summoning of the General Assembly if his/her initiative is supported by signatures of at least 25% of the members of ASER
- To participate as observer at the meetings of the House of Representatives
- To benefit of all forms of defence and support belonging to ASER
- To give up to membership
- To know and accept ASER statute
- To take part in fulfilling the purpose of ASER
- Not to engage the organisation in any activity without a mandate from its Board
- To pay a semester membership fee, voted by the General Assembly
- To pay a registration fee established by the vote of the General Assembly
The purpose of ASER is the active implication of students in the economic and social life for a better communication between them and the social-economical environment, for a better knowledge of the demands that they will be confronted to after graduation and for a better orientation inside the team that they will belong to in a future career.GENERAL ASER PURPOSES
Defending the students’ interests in university environment and in the general framework of the Romanian social life Encouraging research among the students by making some research projects both by students and professors on a wide topic from social, economical and political science Making an exchange of experience and knowledge among students by organising conferences, meetings, seminars and debates, courses in which students and specialists from the country and from abroad will take part Supporting the students in starting a professional activity by providing information and assistance regarding the career Facilitating the access to information and completing the studies by providing assistance regarding scholarships in Romania and abroad Own financing of the organisation by developing parallel economic activities for supporting the objectives of the organisation Promoting dialogue among students and decision factors of the university and creating a tolerant mentality in college Making contacts with students’ organisations from abroad
The activity of ASER is guided by the following 6 general principles:
PRINCIPLE OF DEMOCRACY, which means supporting democratic institutions and participating in civil society activities PRINCIPLE OF FREE OPINIONS, meaning the freedom of word and unlimited access to public interest information PRINCIPLE OF LEGALITY, which means respecting the laws of the country both by each member and by the organisation itself PRINCIPLE OF TOLERANCE, meaning respecting the values of all the other groups or persons actioning on legal basis in society and for the general good PRINCIPLE OF IMPLICATION, which means the moral duty of each member of society to involve in social life consciously, pursuing not only the individual good, but also the general one PRINCIPLE OF TRANSPARENCY, which gives the possibility to all members to know and use information of general interest for ASER
