ASERTIUNEA MAGAZINE is a support for presenting our ideas regarding the new system that has to be created in ASE. Our publication uses terms like “implication” and “responsibility”.
ASERTIUNEA has already appeared twice, printed in 500 copies. Some people said “Bravo!”, some people smiled, very few were criticised us. At the first issue, ASERTIUNEA represented the third students’ magazine that appeared in ASE.
ASERTIUNEA appeared because the students needed it, because till then, non of the magazines from ASE contained articles close to students’ souls, capable of presenting to him everything that happens inside and outside his own university, both economic articles and a lot of amusement.
ASERTIUNEA is a magazine that synthesises the ideas of an enthusiastic editorial staff, who knows students’ life and what they expect from a students’ magazine very well. ASERTIUNEA always communicates to its readers and expects opinions, critics and suggestions from them. Any student may publish articles in this magazine on a special page called “Studentii scriu revista” (“Students writing the magazine”).
In the page called “Editorial” you can find out opinions of famous specialists regarding problems of maximum importance for the Romanian economic and social life.
In the page called “Interviu” (“Interview”) you can meet important personalities of the present, who you never had the opportunity to talk to.
From the pages of the magazine you can find out about the collaboration among students’ organisations, about scholarships, libraries, information centres and a special page called “Ghidul Sesiunii” (“Exams Guide”), where you will find information about the exams from the most appropriate session, professors, their requirements and students’ tricks.
We couldn’t skip from the pages of ASERTIUNEA the most beloved TV films, presented in a top created in a poll made by some members of our editorial staff, as well as many, many news about students’ hostels and courses.
A special place in our magazine is held by the opinion polls, made on present problems of maximum interest for students.
ASERTIUNEA is a complex magazine, enriching in information in each issue and it is waiting for you to come up with new articles for the next issue.
We want to thank very much to TREIRA-Oradea Printing House for sponsoring the first two issues of ASERTIUNEA, to the President of ASER – Sebastian Ailioaie, to Octavian Hera – Chief of Editorial Staff, Ruxandra Petre and Mirela Jianu – Vice Chief of Editorial Staff, Ciprian Isacovici – General Secretary of Editorial Staff, to our Editorial Staff formed by Adela Anescu, Adela Chirculescu, Adrian Judele, Paul Pantea, Mihnea Cr?ciun, Simina Vasilescu, Iuliana Mihalcea, Dora Muntean, Cosmin Suciu, Alexandru Cernat, Oana At?n?soaei, Andrei Badea, Paul Murariu, Lucian Radu, to fotographer Mihaela Tirsar, to Marketing Assistant Eduard Maximov and last, but not least, to Cosmina Motoc – our Financial Consultant, without whom the creation of this magazine wouldn’t have been possible.
THE CONFERENCE ASE-85 YEARS

With t he opportunity of 85 years of existence of the Academy of Economic Studies, ASER organized on April 13-th, 1998 a special conference with honorable guests in Aula Magna ASE. The guests were Mugur Isarescu – Governer of Romanian National Bank, Varujan Vosganian – leader of PAR and President of Budget and Finance Comission from Romanian Senate, Daniel Daianu – Minister of Finance, Dan Voiculescu – President of Romanian Business People Association and Paul Bran – Rector of ASE.
After a short opening discourse of Bogdan Bulumete, member of ASER, Paul Bran introduced our special guests and then the four personalities came up with some memories of the times when they were students of ASE and ended with advice for us, the present students, who have to build our furure only “by hard work”. (Dan Voiculescu).
After a short break in which the guests watched, together with the whole assistance, the documentary film ASE-85 years, made by students, the guests answered the questions asked by the students from the audience.
As they were pressed by problems at work, the guests ended this special conference after two very short hours.
The director of this conference programme was Paul Murariu – Vice-President of ASER.
We present here some of the most important moments of this conference, with images and text taken from Aula Magna by ASER members:

ACADEMY CUP

Organising a sports competition for the whole ASE constituted one of the priorities of ASER. Owing to the support provided by the Sports Staff from ASE and to the collaboration with Student Park Tei, this project ended in a new success of our organisation.
The first edition of ACADEMY CUP organised by ASER was an exciting sports competition in football, streetball and tennis table. The organisation of this important competition was attributed to our “sportsmen” Paul Pantea and Elian Vodislav.
The competition took place on 14-17-th of May 1998 in Student Park Tei.
In Streetball section the teams formed by three players gave an unforgettable show, inspite of the heat and of the rhythm imposed by the organisers in “each against each” system.
The teams that took part in the Streetball competition were from the Universities of International Business Transactions, Economic Studies in Foreign Languages, Trade, Accounting and Management and they had suggestive names, like “Team 1”, “The French” or “Heim”.
In Tennis Table competition took part 16 students who played a play-off system of matches, as the best from three sets. The final was won by Bradu Ruslan from the University of Management, year III who beat in two sets Ilie Caplescu from the University of Accounting, year II, while the third-place match was won by Stefan Stavrositu from the University of International Business Transactions, year III, who beat Lucian Despoiu from the University of Accounting, year I.
The most exciting in the ACADEMY CUP was the Football challenge, where four teams took part. These were from the Universities of Agrarian Economy (EGPA), Finance, Accounting (CIG) and International Business Transactions (REI). Three matches were played, two semi-finals and the final; the results were the following:
Semi-final 1: CIG – Finance: 5-0
Semi-final 2: REI – EGPA: 2-1
Final: CIG – REI: 3-1
Although the team from the University of Accounting won the final, the best player of the tournament was considered by everybody even one of the organisers of this competition, Pantea Paul from the team of REI.
The referees of all matches were members of ASER.
The competition ACADEMY CUP will take place yearly and beginning with next year it will also include other sports, like volleyball, tennis or basketball. We are waiting for your suggestions and many more participants at this students’ competition. IMPORTANT PRICES EXPECTED!

THE SERIES OF CONFERENCES - SCOP

On May 20-th, 1998 took place the first conference from a series of open conferences, created and organised by ASER. Its objective is to bring important Romanian personalities among students, people who represent a voice, people who can teach and from whom students can learn.
SCOP wants to open perspectives as large as possible to economist students. We want to increase students’ potential to become completely developed persons, capable of helping both themselves and the others.
The first step in this series of conferences was the meeting between the students from ASE and Mr. Daniel Daianu, Minister of Finance. We stayed together for more than an hour and a half, without microphones or spotlights. This is the way introduced by ASER for this type of conferences, in which both the students and the guests must feel like inside a family, the type of free talks, in which the students ask questions to the guests, but they are at the same time asked by the guest, in order to create a friendly atmosphere, favourable for finding out as much information as possible from each other.
The conclusion of the first SCOP Conference is that hard work leads to great achievements, with one condition: to want.
We had Daniel Daianu, we will also have other personalities of the Romanian social, economical and political life. Just visit our pages and do not miss the next meeting.
The directors of this project are Adrian Judele and Otilia Obodaru.
